try taupe (tope)

Taupe or beige walls makes black accents pop and look positively elegant. Make sure and incorporate some white touches here and there. You won’t be disappointed.
Answer by Julien Davoust
Definitely a beige or white ! The other colors can make you feel depressed if too dark or limit you a lot in the other elements if unusual (as green or blue).
Go for a beige it’s classy and match any other color!

That depends, are you wanting a dark room?? If so Burgundy, dark emerald green. If you want a calm coloured room, go with a hazel, or a tan even try lush green. But if you want it lively an your furniture to pop out by use black go with a baby blue, mixed with a darker blue trim or visa versa as well with greens such as a lime green with a dull green. Try to stay away from yellows oranges pinks an certain reds, bright red, dull red an red orange. But you could always go for a bright white depending on the furniture, possibly even gold or silver.. All depending on your lifestyle an how well it matches the rest of the house.

Cream and black are going to work great together, and since both are rather neutral, you’ll be able to add one or two accent colors further define your room — a technique they use all the time in home interiors NY.
Since you’re into cream, I recommend choosing that for your wall color, then accenting it with small items like lamps, rugs, pillows and window treatments. You can consider using prints here as well; as long as the surface is small, even a bold print can look okay.
If you’re wondering what to do, check out an interior design magazine for some furniture pictures — they can be great inspiration! I host my own at nttp://www.interiornewyork.com. Good luck!

Cream fits, especially if we’re not talking about a big place. However, if you have a well-lighted room, with large windows and a general sensation of space, you may consider an accent wall. Keep cream for three walls and paint one in a darker tint: basically anything ranging from brown to red would look good.

Q&A–: painting furniture..?
Hi. I want to redecorate my room and I want to paint my furniture black but i dont know what im going to do..its already built and its wood finish. do i need to sand it..and also what kind of paint will i use??
The following is the answer: (Hint: The answer is not necessarily.)
Answer by Rogelio S
don’t sand it just apply stripper (paint remover) that it will do the job for for, just follow the instructions, you may have to sand a little, but not a lot, and go to home depot and search for the one that you like, but read
the instructions (the stripper is kind of dangerous)
Answer by tessa_rea
I would sand it, or put a good quality gray primer on it. Let it dry, then paint it.
I would use a high gloss enamel. I like that shiny finish.
Answer by blackcloud
Sanding, but it’s not so much for the sanding as to get a “key” to the original finish,it really needs to be ‘scuffed’ up.New paint wont stick to a shiny finish so you have to get it so it’s matt, then the paint has a chance of sticking. The best thing for this is a material call ‘scotch bright’ ,it’s a synthetic, woven pad that doesn’t become dull, and can be shaped round thing.Painting is 90% preparation,10 % painting.
