My husband custom built a desk for me and I painted it white. I got Cabot Semi-gloss water-based polyurethane to protect it with, and when I start brushing it on it was pink. Will this turn clear when it dries, or will there always be a pink tint to my white desk?

Grainuv Truth is right…….What ever it is going to do, it will do. The water based poly should have not been the problem, unless it was a spoiled can. Probable wasn’t.
What type of Paint? Oil and only a day old or less ….I would guess.
Let it all dry ….sand with 180 …… repaint latex primer ( I like 123) ….. Paint with acrylic latex…. let paint cure, weather can slow this down…….. sand with 220…….clean up dust…… use a good stirred can of water based poly. Don’t stir vigorously or shake. Brush on. A milky look is OK while wet. No Pink. Dries clear. sand with 220 between coats.
Another cause for pinkness could be the actual wood seeping through paint. Did you Prime ????

Polyurethane

Q&A–: How many of you are using polyurethane condoms as your only form of birth control?
I’m allergic to latex, so we use polyurethane condoms along with the Nuvaring as a method of birth control. Long story short, I put the nuvaring in a day late, and so polyurethane condoms are our only hope right now.

Has anyone found them to be a problem? We’ve been using them for about two months and they’ve never broken or slipped off.

I did because I’m sensitive to latex…they work fine.

This is some older cabinets that are being modernized with a dark transparent application of BASF’s, RM Diamont. They are finished with a coat of matte BASF clear. The mixture for the stain was 4 :1:1:1 – BC00:BC250:BC850:UR50 with a glasurit flat clear to get a well protected and uniform matte finish. This project costed approximately 0 in materials, a much more economical approach to a simple kitchen upgrade.
