Furniture Paint

Q&A–: Furniture spray painted black & I want to paint it cream. Do I have to use spray again or can I use wall..?
I plan to paint the black furniture cream, then antique or rough up the furniture so it looks weathered and older than it is. I used regular black spray paint before. Do I have to use a spray paint again? I think wall paint would give me the texture and look I’m going for versus spraying again. I don’t want to have to prime so I can keep the black under the white to show more weathering. Any help is appreciated, I want to get this done before my boyfriend starts offering suggestions and takes over the project. Thank you!

Yes, you can use regular latex paint but be sure it is at least a satin finish. If you use a flat you won’t be happy with the result. A crackle finish works well with black underneath, or just paint the cream( two coats) and then sand the edges. Good luck!

The paint base should remain the same so that the new does not rub off of the old. It all depends on the type of paints and the finishing. some finishes need to be sanded and others don’t so start small and see what works best for you. wish you well on this one.
